Community Pet Hospital Offers Complete Veterinary Dental Care

It’s a surprising fact that dental care is one of the most overlooked areas of pet health. Statistically, a quality diet and a clean mouth add years to your pet’s life. Dental disease is one of the most preventable health issues for pets. Dental exams and cleanings not only keep your pet’s breath fresh but also eliminate many dental—and overall—health issues. Simple dental problems can lead to more complex health concerns for your pet, such as gum disease, systemic infections, and even liver, kidney, and heart diseases.
When we examine your pet’s teeth and mouth, we look for the following:

  • Gingivitis
  • Fractured or chipped teeth
  • Tartar buildup
  • Abscesses
  • Pockets in the gums
  • Correct bite
  • Jaw injury
  • Erosion in the enamel

Based on our findings, we may recommend additional corrective treatment.

When it comes to dental health for your pet, we can’t stress prevention enough. A simple step such as having annual dental X-rays allows us to identify and correct issues under the gum line early when they are treatable rather than requiring the loss of a tooth. We offer digital X-rays ’for your pet’s dental exams to allow the clearest, most accurate picture of your pet’s mouth and teeth.

While a routine examination and cleaning are excellent preventive measures, we also recommend a home dental care regime for your pet. Our staff can offer advice during your pet’s exam. In addition, we will provide instructions and resources that will help you care for your pet’s teeth at home.
